Single Moms Grant Program-Temporarily on hold due to grants coming
to an end and new grants being in application.
What we have to offer:
We have a new Program for single moms or grandparents with children who need counseling help. The grant
provides for 5 sessions of crisis counseling as well as a resource workers to help find and teach them how to
find resources for their families. Resources are always available at NBCC, but this program will assist them with

Life Skills Training includes: Handling Money, Time Management, Goal Setting, Procrastination, Listening
Skills, Communications Skills, Negotiation, Handling Conflict, Teamwork, Self-Esteem, Empathy and
To qualify for our program you must be:
-Single Mothers or grandmothers with dependent children residing with them and limited means of support.
-Single moms with limited support and not living in the home with a family member that can provide for them.
-Single moms of any age who have major health issues or mental health issues with no insurance coverage.
-Single moms who have suffered separation/divorce or job loss with a limited income.
-Single moms who are victims of domestic violence with limited support or no place to live.
-Single moms in current crisis situations like husband's arrested and currently serving a sentence in prison for
more than one year leaving his family alone.
-Moms who are currently living with a boyfriend/husband do not qualify.
-Other possible life situations could apply so check with the Program Director.
-Professional homeless families have other programs available to them and do not qualify.
Proof Required for Intake:
Proof of residence in Gwinnett, Barrow, Hall, Rockdale or Walton. Please make a copy of your Drivers license
and power bill or other proof of local living arrangements. Clients from Fulton, Dekalb, or Forsyth counties are
not accepted for this program due to their county having many other resources..
Proof of Financial obligations or paycheck stubs showing hours and pay amounts are needed.
