Meet Our Counselors
  
Marcia McWhorter: BSN, RN, MTS, CCMFT, Director of NBCC.
Marcia has a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and is a RN in the State of Georgia. She holds a Masters in Pastoral Counseling and is a Nationally Certified Marriage and Family Therapist. She has been a counselor for over 30 years and is the Director of New Beginnings Counseling. Her history of teaching counseling in colleges and supervising counselors for many years gives her new insight for problems. Whether you want counseling or just a one time visit to draw from her years or experience or the local resources, she is looking forward to assist you. She has a great compassion for those hurting, sparks new life, and challenges you to grow in your life and relationships!


Yolanda Monteiro: MA, NCC, LPC, Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor.
Yolanda earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling/ Psychology from Cleveland State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and a National Certified Counselor. She has supervised counselors for many years now being a Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor in Georgia and brings a professional expertise to our center. She specializes in grief, depression and anxiety as well as marital and family issues. She has focused herself on delivering the highest quality of care. Her sensitivity and compassion seeks to contribute to improving the lives of others and bring a place of restoration. Yolanda has a heart to see the people healed and made whole again in spirit, mind and body.
  


Tara Taylor: MAPC, LPC.
Tara has a Bachelor's Degree in Interpersonal Communication with a Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. She has worked in marital and family situations as well as with individuals with self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance abuse and adult survivors of child abuse. She has worked in school environments as well as teen and adult groups in multiple areas. She desires to see you find a place of comfort, healing, and restoration.
  


Dr. Cheryl Fultz: Doctor of Biblical Counseling BA, MBC, PhD.
Cheryl has received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Theology and Master's and Doctorate in Biblical / Christian Counseling from North Carolina College of Theology. A passion of hers is to work with Married Couples, Families, Youth, Individuals, and Preparing Couples for Marriage. She is a native of Pennsylvania where she had worked for over 20 years as an inner-city youth pastor counseling youth and their families, counseled and worked as a minister in her church; worked as a Therapeutic Staff Support providing mental health services to children who were emotionally disturbed, dealing with coping issues, helping with anger / frustration management and managing behaviors and another passion was working in the prisons as a Spiritual Advisor to those needing direction. Upon relocating to Georgia, she has served as the Director of the Single Moms Grant Program with New Beginnings Counseling Center and is presently a Pastoral Counselor and works as a Technology Teacher / Substitute part time at Parkview Christian School. She has a passion and desire to help those that feel broken or hurting become whole again and believes that sometimes you just need a helping hand with some guidance and prayer.
  
  
Angela Schieber: BA, MAEd, MAPC Pastoral Counselor.
Angel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and two Master's Degrees: a Master’s in Education and a Masters in Pastoral Counseling with Addiction & Recovery from Liberty University. She has over 28 years of living clean and sober herself. She offers a wealth of knowledge and personal experience in living a life in long-term recovery. It is with a grateful heart I am drawn to assist people with healing, restoration, and reconciliation by providing individual support, emotional and spiritual guidance, care, and kindness. Together we can find meaning again, create new a new normal in life, and discover life's purpose, beyond strife, struggles, and challenges.
